What can I say, people? Other than I am marrying the love of my life, which makes me the luckiest person in the world. I am marrying a woman who I have known for many years now, a woman I have had a crush on since middle school but was too afraid to tell her how I really felt. A woman that has taught me so many different things about myself and lastly, a woman that has shown me how to truly love someone with all of your heart and soul. It all started back when we both were attending Mountain View Middle School in Aloha, and I was new to both the school and the state of Oregon. My father made the decision to move my family away from Riverside, California, to get away from all the violence and start his new job here in Oregon. That is where I first laid eyes on the most gorgeous young lady in the school. And, naturally, she ignored me at all cost because I hung out with her older brother and called myself a "gangster" :). She specifically remembers when I told her how my family was apart of the Mexican Mafia and that my family had to move up to Oregon, because I needed to get away from the "gang life". Now, this couldn't be more farther from the actual truth, I was a dedicated baseball player / Mexican folk dancer who stayed far away from any and all violence I had ever encountered. I was merely trying to show off while making myself sound more tough that I actually was at the time. Fast forward 10+ years, I was living in Arizona with my parents mostly taking care of my father, who was dealing with some health issues at the time. One night while scrolling through Facebook, I ran across the most beautiful picture of Gaby showing off her newly gorgeous manicured nails. Naturally, I commented on how beautiful she was and from then on, we started talking daily with an immediate powerful connection. Our conversations soon grew from 10 minutes to talking all night long. I finally moved back home to be with her; the rest is history.
