What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat. No jeans or sneakers.

Typically the weather this time of year in Virginia reaches a high anywhere between 80°F-90°F.

The wedding and reception are being held in the same location. The venue is Legacy Hall. The address is 4301 New Town Ave, Williamsburg, VA 23188

Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party and family will be taking pictures nearby for approximately 45 minutes. Guests will stay in the ceremony room where light finger foods and drinks will be served. The wedding coordinator or hostess will guide you through this process as needed.

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

Our wedding has a color scheme of black and gold, but we encourage guests to wear whatever colors they want EXCEPT for white. Only the Bride and Flower Girls are permitted to wear white. ***Certain family members/friends have already been asked to wear a certain color by the bride and groom. For those people, be sure to follow the color code advised.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive 45 minutes to an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone finds a place to park (parking in nearby parking spaces), use the restroom, and find their table and seat.

Are children allowed.

Answer

Only children under the age of 1 years old, or children who have a role in the wedding are allowed. We love your little ones, but our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

No, you cannot bring a date. We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Yes. Please visit the RSVP tab on this website to book your hotel stay.

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

Please RSVP by May 18th. For efficiency purposes, please RSVP on our website. There will be a link to scan on the mailed invitation to scan with your smartphone.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Yes, there will be a full sit down meal served at the reception. Drinks will be provided, including water, lemonade, sweet tea, and selected alcoholic beverages,

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

There will be fruit and sides served, but the main meals does include meat.

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

Our family is in the process of purchasing our first home. If you wish to contribute to our Newlywed Fund, we have a cash registry on our website. The money will be used to buy needed items for our new house.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes! We encourage guests to take pictures before and after the ceremony. We ask that you DO NOT take pictures during the ceremony because you will interfere with the professional photographer's shots. After and before the ceremony, please take all the pictures you want and use our hashtag #100%cotton on social media if you post them.
