South Beach

Taking advantage of the beach- South Beach is known for its beaches and the glamorous scene around its happening nightspots and celebrity-chef eateries. On Ocean Drive, known for its well-preserved art deco architecture, outdoor cafes offer a ringside view of the scene.

Art Deco Historic District

Pops of color plus the style’s notable architectural lines, curves and fountains can be found throughout Miami Beach, but especially in the historic district. One of the most famous streets in Miami. The styles of the 1920s and 1930s remain vibrant in the Art Deco Historic District in Miami Beach, home to the nation’s largest concentration of the sleek and bright architectural style. The district, which has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979, contains some 800 designated historic buildings, though some of them represent other modern architectural styles from different eras of Miami’s history.

Lincoln Road Mall

Lincoln Road Mall, Miami Beach, FL 33139

Designed by iconic architectural guru Morris Lapidus in the 1950s, Lincoln Road Mall was once dubbed the “Fifth Avenue of the South,” though it’s now commonly referred to as “Lincoln.” Endless sidewalk cafés, lounges and cultural venues—such as the Colony Theatre—stretch along its length from Washington Avenue to Alton Road.

Miami Beach Botanical Garden

The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is a lush three-acre landscape filled with 100 palm species, orchids and native plants such as the corky stem, which attracts Florida’s state butterfly, the black-and-yellow striped zebra longwing. Meander through the gardens and enjoy a tropical escape in the heart of Miami Beach.

Wynwood Walls

The decade-old cultural institution is the famed epicenter of the Wynwood Arts District, legitimizing graffiti art with a roster of more than 50 murals painted by renowned artists around the world—from Shepard Fairey and Kenny Scharf to Kelsey Montague. Vibrant in color, deep in meaning and large in scope, the groundbreaking Walls are the undisputed selfie capital of Miami and chances are you’ll recognize some of the murals from the profile pics in your Insta feed.

Miami Design District

The Miami Design District is a vibrant and sophisticated international destination for fashion, art, architecture and fine dining. Spanning 18 square blocks north of the Wynwood neighborhood, this lively shopping and arts district is a treasure trove of high-end, luxury fashion shops, edgy galleries, Instagrammable public art and trendy restaurants. The brainchild of visionary developer and art collector Craig Robins, the Miami Design District has grown into a sophisticated and inviting international destination for art and design.

Pérez Art Museum Miami

With a collection of works from such artists as Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Frank Stella and Ana Mendieta, not to mention some high-caliber traveling exhibitions, this relatively young museum (formerly Miami Art Museum) is worth a visit.

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

Between the house and its grounds, Vizcaya is a living museum dedicated to the early days of Miami’s rise as a destination and to old-school European design. The waterfront home’s many treasures include more than 2,500 antique art objects and furnishings; 10 acres of immaculately landscaped gardens, including 2,000 orchids; and 25 acres of endangered forest lands.

Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science

1101 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33132

Frost Science is an aquatic-driven museum that occupies four buildings—the Aquarium, the Frost Planetarium and the North and West Wings— and features year-round exhibits and is a delight for curious minds of all ages.

South Pointe Park

South Pointe Park is a beautiful green space at the southern tip of Miami Beach. It offers stunning panoramic views of the South Beach shoreline, PortMiami’s cruise ships, Downtown Miami’s skyline and Fisher Island. The park has direct access to the beach as well as walking trails, picnic and barbecue areas, benches, a cafe and an off-leash bark park. There is also a mini water playground perfect for cooling off on a warm day, along with a jungle gym and lush landscaping.
