We have known each other for a long time since Chris became a friend of Kyle's (Taylor's Brother) in middle or intermediate school. As the years passed, Chris came around the house more and Taylor became friends with Kyle's friend group. Making time to see each other even as we all went off to college. Years went by as we continued being friends. We went to college, got our first jobs, Chris bought his house, and Taylor adopted her cat, Jade. Then in 2019, Carl so graciously hosted a Halloween party that brought the gang together and led to Chris asking me on a date the next Saturday. For the first 2 years of dating, Taylor lived in Cincinnati and Chris lived in Indianapolis. Almost, every weekend we would try to see each other—driving to Cincinnati or Indianapolis. (Chris did a lot of driving to Cincinnati... lol) Throughout our time of dating, we loved to travel to visit friends, watch baseball games, try new food, grab coffee wherever we went, and of course, grab a beer at the local brewery. Our first weekend trip was to Chicago in Feb 2020. Our first 10-day trip was to Salt Lake City & Moab visiting my friend Lotty and checking out national parks in July 2020. By 2021, Taylor started a new job that allowed her to be fully remote and was able to work from anywhere. In July 2021, Taylor moved into Chris's house in Indianapolis. No more driving 1.5 hours to see the other! Even after we moved in together, we continued to travel to create memories. Over the 5 years of dating, we were able to travel to New York City, Denver, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Louisville, Seoul, Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas, Queretaro, Chichen Itza, Cancun, Fairbanks, Grand Rapids, London, Oxford, Dublin, Belfast. With every trip creating new memories. On our recent international trip, we landed in London and headed to our Airbnb Apartment located above a pizzeria in Battersea Park, where Chris asked me to marry him. (And I said yes, of course!)
