Kristell and I met in 2015 at the least expected place. Was it chance? Was it destiny? I like to think of our meeting as a chance to fulfill our destiny. I don’t exactly know which universal force brought a Peruvian born woman and a Harlem born man to meet in NJ, but I do, however, know the reason, which has become quite obvious. I remember seeing Kristell for a moment as she was leaving the building after her interview. Her aura was stunning, bright, and beautiful. I was ecstatic to see her start just a few days later. I lent her my sweater one day since she was cold and told her I’m returning in a bag a customer left behind. When she checked the contents, it was my business card with a note on the back asking her to join me for a dinner that upcoming Sunday. She texted me confirming our first date. Maybe the Ferrero Roche chocolates that were in that bag also influenced her decision. Kristell brought out my creative side during my courtship with her. From trying to salsa-dance, to drinking Blue Moon beer under a blue moon, she brought out the romantic in me. I gave her the keys to my heart, literally, as I gave her a set of keys to my apartment on a heart-shaped key-chain engraved “Kristell’s Key To My Heart”. From Peru and Harlem, to NJ and Albany, I ask that you come join us now in Mexico as we tell our beloved friends and family, no matter where life takes us, it will be us, together, forever. Frank B.
