FAQs

The Wedding Website of Eliza Ruth Williams and Frank Edward Deckard Jr
Question

Is the hotel all-inclusive?

Answer

No. We debated this, and ultimately decided to go with a smaller, boutique hotel for a more unique and intimate experience. Jamaica is known for amazing food, entertainment, and culture, so we figure most people will want to get off the hotel property to explore some! There is a restaurant and bar on-site (The Lodge) as well as a few well-known places within walking distance or easy taxi ride. Continental breakfast is included with your stay.

Question

What if I need to cancel the hotel room?

Answer

As long as the room is cancelled 60 days or more prior to arrival, you will be 100% refunded per Tensing Pen policy.

Question

Does the hotel have beach access?

Answer

The hotel is located in the beautiful cliff's of Negril's West End. The hotel does not have a beach, but it does a pool, cliff jumping, and ladders leading directly into the ocean for swimming. Seven Mile Beach is just a short taxi ride away if you want to plan a beach day!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Beach semi-formal attire for the wedding and reception (wear or bring shoes you can dance in!). The reception will be outdoors at night so we recommend bringing bug spray or wipes for our VIP guests, the mosquitos. For the rest of the trip, wear whatever you want! Be sure to pack a swimsuit and plenty of SPF. NOTE: Jamaica does not allow civilians to wear camo clothing.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While there is no way to know for sure, February/March is not Jamaica's rainy season, so weather is typically sunny and warm. Expect highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s.

Question

How do I get to the hotel from the airport?

Answer

Sangster International Airport is unfortunately around 1 3/4 hours from Tensing Pen. We recommend arranging transportation directly through the hotel by emailing WEDDINGS@TENSINGPEN.COM; share your arrival time and please specify if you’d like private transfer.

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Jamaica?

Answer

Yes. Routine passport takes at least 8 weeks if not longer, so plan accordingly. And friendly reminder to check your passport and make sure it isn’t expiring before the trip!
