Driving Information

o Plan on 90 minutes from Portland airport to ferry dock with limited traffic. Wiscasset on Rt. 1 can easily back up and once you drive through won’t understand why the backup. o The last stretch is Rt. 27 South and takes about 20 minutes to drive to the ferry dock. If you feel like it may never end, you’re not alone, just keep the faith. o About 10-15 minutes along, you will see a sign for Boothbay and a few minutes later a sign for Boothbay Harbor - keep going straight on Rt. 27 South o If you are planning on grocery/liquor shopping* stop at the Hannaford on your right in Boothbay Harbor at the only stoplight.

Staying on Squirrel Island - Driving Information

o Passing the Hannaford grocery store on your right/keeping straight on Rt 27 South you will wind your way into the little town of Boothbay Harbor and the road will split - just stay straight - passing the Thistle Inn & Oak Street Provisions on the left and shortly the main road bears a little left and downhill to a stop sign. Go straight through the stop sign winding downhill and a little right where you can see water, docks and some parking on the left. You will take a left into Captain Fish’s Parking at Pier 7 and tell the parking attendant that you are dropping off for Squirrel Island. Ask the attendant to show you which way to go to pull around to the 3 short term parking spaces at Pier 8 Balmy Days Cruises to unload luggage etc. You will be walking things down the pier and onto the boat on the right “The Novelty.” o Please note! The Novelty only runs to the island 3-5 times a day and leaves RIGHT on time! If you need to book a special they are $100 per ride

Staying at Newagen - Driving Information

Cross the bridge in Wiscasset and turn right onto Route 27 South toward Boothbay Harbor.Go through Boothbay Harbor, following the signs for the hospital and Southport Island. Cross the swing bridge onto Southport Island and continue on RT 27 about 4 miles and make a right at Newagen Seaside Inn’s main entrance.
