A week before the proposal she was invited to a "housewarming party", where she didn't know anyone. She likes to make a good first impression so he knew she would be looking gorgeous. He had been planning this for a month, a picturesque location, with a stunning sunset overlooking the sea. On the big day, the heavens opened up and it rained throughout the day, making it impossible to execute the plan. But nothing was going to stop him making this their day. With mere hours to go, phone calls to every part of Auckland, and some last minute help from friends and family, he came up with Plan B. Upon reaching the "housewarming", he blindfolded her and led her to a bouquet of flowers, a bottle of champagne and him on one knee. The rest as they say is history !
