Our story began in the most sacred way, through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Garrett was serving his mission in Florida when our paths first crossed; he was the missionary who baptized me. From that moment, there was a connection filled with light, peace, and an undeniable sense of God’s hand in our lives. It was a moment that changed everything, even if we didn’t yet know how. After that sacred encounter, our lives took different paths, and for about a year and a half, we didn’t see each other. Yet even in that time apart, the seeds of what was meant to be were quietly growing. Each of us followed the paths God had planned, learning, growing, and preparing for the moment we would come together again. A year and a half later, fate, or rather, God’s perfect timing, brought us together in Salt Lake City. I had traveled to Utah for a wedding, and there he was, no longer a missionary and convert, but two souls ready to meet as equals, as friends, as kindred spirits. From that reunion, every trip, every conversation, every shared laugh became a thread in a tapestry God was weaving for us. Our connection deepened naturally, growing from friendship into a long-distance relationship and eventually into a covenant of eternal love. Every step along the way, we’ve felt His guidance, from whispered prayers in quiet moments to the unmistakable confirmations in our hearts. We’ve celebrated joys, overcome challenges, and learned that God’s hand is in even the smallest details of our lives. Today, as we prepare to be sealed for time and all eternity, we are overwhelmed with gratitude. Gratitude for each twist and turn that led us here, for the sacred experiences that shaped us, and for the promise of a future built on faith, love, and devotion. Our journey is a reminder that when God designs a path, it may be long and winding, but it is always perfect, always intentional, and always filled with love. We can’t wait to share this day with our family and friends, to celebrate not just our love, but the God-story that brought us together and will continue to guide us forever.
