Our story.

International love

How we met is not the exciting part of the story. Much like other couples nowadays we met online. After a week or two of chatting nonstop we finally met at a lake impromptu during the beginning of Covid. Although we consider our first date a zoom call, appropriate for the times lol. Our following dates seemed very much like we were already at home together, cooking food, doing chores, like helping me with the pool on our first date at my house. We watched a lot of movie and TV and cook dinner at home. We didn’t get to go out much during those times as restaurants were closed. I truly believe this gave us an advantage of what life would look like if we continued on with our relationship. Around Christmas 2020 things got more serious and we talked about moving in together, January 2021 Franco asked me to officially marry him on my birthday over dinner he made. We thought we had a little longer to be engaged but with the times happening and legal circumstances we decided to elope on whidby island. That day didn’t go quite as expected either, we planned everything at our Airbnb but the snow decided to close in fast. We were able to do our wedding photos but the minister couldn’t make it. We met a lady out for a walk that day (Franco’s idea to take that walk) that offered us some bread and anything else we needed. The next day when we tried to leave, to get married outside a restaurant on the island. We couldn’t make it up the hill. I remember that lady and went to ask her for help, and then they offered to drive us to the ceremony. It was very sweet and without them I’m not sure what we would’ve done. So on a snowy cold day, because of a ride from strangers, we married in our winter coats outside a closed restaurant on whidby Island. Not exactly what we pictured but it was very romantic and it was Valentine’s Day. I’m very excited to be able to celebrate with all of our family now. Even though the pandemic hasn’t ended I’m feeling hopeful for the future.
