I was a freshman and Graham a sophomore at Thomas Aquinas College when the famous Thomas Fire began on the evening of December 4th, 2017--right behind campus. The entire student body was evacuated that night. I was grabbed by a friend and left campus in the same car that Graham was in. The group of us ended up evacuated together for what would be, despite the desperate circumstances, one of the best weeks of our lives. Within those five days Graham and I quickly became friends, fell in love, and the rest is history.
