Out of reverence for the sacredness of the liturgy and the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, modest and respectful attire is expected. Here's a quick guide with examples: For Women ✔ Recommended: - Dresses or skirts that cover the knees (even while sitting) - Tops with sleeves (short, ¾, or long – no sleeveless or spaghetti straps) - Neutral or soft tones (avoid flashy patterns or low necklines) - A veil or head covering (required for Traditional Latin Mass – we will provide extras if needed) Examples: - A midi dress with sleeves - A blouse with a flowy and a knee-length skirt - Long-sleeve maxi dress ✘ Avoid: - Shorts, mini-skirts, strapless or low-cut tops, skin-tight dresses, sheer materials For Men ✔ Recommended: - Collared shirts (polo, button-down, or dress shirt) - Dress pants or clean slacks Optional: tie or blazer for a more formal look Examples: - White button-down shirt with navy trousers and dress shoes - Polo shirt with khakis and loafers - Dress shirt and tie with a blazer (especially appropriate for weddings) ✘ Avoid: - T-shirts, shorts, ripped jeans, sneakers, tank tops, graphic or slogan shirts Once again, thank you for helping preserve the reverence for this sacred day
Our wedding Mass will be celebrated in the Traditional Latin (Extraordinary Form) Mass, which follows beautiful, centuries-old Catholic customs. One of these traditions is that women wear a chapel veil or head covering in church. It’s a sign of reverence and humility before God, and a way of honoring the sacredness of the Mass. Think of it less as a rule and more as a quiet, beautiful tradition that reminds us we’re stepping into something holy. “The veil symbolizes a woman hidden in her Divine Spouse — cherished, protected, and united with Him.” We also kindly ask that all guests dress modestly—nothing fancy required, just respectful. For women, this usually means covered shoulders and knee-length (or longer) dresses or skirts. For men, slacks and a collared shirt are great. Veils will be available at the entrance for anyone who’d like to borrow one. Thank you for helping us keep the focus on the sacred—and for being part of this special day!
We are so glad you asked! As some of you know, Grace has a small business, Love ReVeiled, where she sews veils and sells other Catholic items alongside Francisco. We would greatly appreciate you reaching out if you are interested in purchasing a veil! Supporting this business would truly be a blessing and it would be a joy sharing this with you. If you are not interested in purchasing a veil, you can choose to wear any shawl / scarf that covers your head (alternate option: fascinator hats). On September 26th, if you have forgotten a head covering, we will have some back ups. However, to prevent a shortage, please prepare to bring your own. We understand that this may the first time some of you will be veiling and it can be an uncomfortable experience. For this reason, I, Grace, want to strongly encourage you to try it before our wedding and learn more about it (@love.reveiled on Instagram is a possible resource). Take heart sisters and be open to the LORD’s love and our Blessed Mother’s guidance. We are brides of the Heavenly King! We truly appreciate your effort to help keep this special day sacred.
The Extraordinary Form of the Catholic Mass, also known as the Traditional Latin Mass or Tridentine Mass, follows the liturgy as it was celebrated for centuries. It is offered in Latin, with the priest facing the altar (often called “ad orientem”), and follows a formal and traditional structure. Our nuptial ceremony will be celebrated in this beautiful and timeless tradition. To help you follow along, we will provide programs with translations and explanations. We encourage you to attend a Latin Mass beforehand or do a bit of research to become familiar with it—we think you’ll find it truly special! Since the start of our relationship we have had a great love for the Traditional Latin Mass. The reverence and beauty of it drew us closer to the LORD and made us realize that this indeed is the source and summit of our Catholic lives. It is truly one of the most beautiful forms of prayer and we cannot wait to enter into it with you all.
The best way to prepare is to pray for us as we approach our wedding day—your prayers and support truly mean the world to us! If you're Catholic and would like to receive Holy Communion during the Mass, we encourage you to be spiritually prepared in accordance with Church teaching. This means being in a state of grace, which includes having gone to Confession recently, especially if you're aware of any serious sins. At a Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form), Holy Communion is received kneeling (if you're physically able) and on the tongue, as a gesture of reverence for the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. If you're not Catholic or not receiving Communion, you're still very much invited to participate in the Mass through prayer and presence. During Communion, feel free to remain seated and continue to pray for us. No matter your background, we’re so grateful to have you witness this sacred moment with us.
