It all started with a girl just trying to celebrate her 20th birthday and a guy trying to kick off his dj career.... Once upon a hot day in May 2016 I was having a 20th birthday party and Ruben was looking for a party to DJ at. In 2016 there were a few party groups who hosted parties at peoples houses.My best friend at the time was dating one of Rubens friends and on the day of my party she told me to have "MVF" host and I was like "who" and she said it was her boyfriend and his friends party group and that they had just started up, she basically convinced me to have Ruben and his friends host my party however I was still a bit hesitant. During our conversation Ruben started messaging me on Snapchat talking about the night before because a group of us where out and about partying and I passed out early and he was making fun of me but then he also convinced me to have him and his friends host my party so I said yes, we met that night and didn't think nothing of it. A week later Ruben posted a picture him and I took at my party and I told him to send it to me which ended up being me giving him my number. He invited me out to a party that night and I said yes but, last minute tried to do everything in my power to flake I even tried telling him I needed to go have dinner at my grandmas house but he wouldn't let me flake he was ok with waiting for me. I ended up going out that night with Ruben and a few of his friends to a few parties, our 2nd to last party ended with us dancing and since then have been inseparable. Who woulda thought a little bumpin and grindin at a house party would result in a marriage 9 years later! Forever grateful Ruben didn't let me flake <3
A few days after celebrating our 7 year dating anniversary we took a 24 hour trip to Lake Tahoe, Ruben's aunt and cousins were visiting from Italy so I didn't think anything of it. When we got to Tahoe we literally were just chillen and went to this new cantina to grab a few drinks where his Aunt and mom later met up with us, we made our way back to the hotel and just chilled. We ended up deciding to make plans to meet up with his uncle who was also in Tahoe for the weekend so we went back to the room to get ready with the intention of going to dinner and the bars after. After I finished getting ready Ruben gets a call from his mom for us to go meet them at the beach because they wanted to take "sunset" pictures which I'm not gonna lie upset me because I wasn't dressed for the beach nor had shoes for the beach and I kept saying lets just go the next day before leaving but no-one would budge and I ended up at the beach mind you they were about to close and my now fiancé had to pay for us to get in, we made our way into the area where I stood behind a building because I was wearing heels and refused to take them off and get my feet sandy so Ruben went to go look for the perfect spot while I got attacked by a momma bird for trying to take a picture of her babies luckily he heard me scream and raced back to me and carried me to the spot and we sat there waiting for his family to get there for pictures mind you it was freezing and I was getting more ansy by the minute. I was taking pictures and out of nowhere he dropped down on one knee and asked me to be his forever! We can't wait to celebrate our love with you!
