Rome is an amazing place. We tried to give you below a couple of suggestions of places that may be a little outside of your typical touristic destinations. Below you can find some of our favorite spots in the caput mundi!

While for sure the Roman Forum will be part of your visit, try to go there late at night. We assure you that without all the crowd and with the beautiful illumination, you'll love it!

View of the Fori at night

Start here a walk in the Trastevere neighbourhood. It's typical for Romans to go there at night, but it's very nice and peaceful also for a walk during the day

Trastevere

Beautiful bridge in the center of the city. Can be a good place to start a tour of the Trastevere neighbourhood

Ponte Sisto

Beautiful terrace inside the Villa Borghese park (which is also worth a visit), from which you can enjoy a great view of the city

Terrazza del Pincio

Catch an amazing view of Rome's center from this terrace

Terrazza del Gianicolo

An entire building where you can find huge gourmet supermarket (all sorts or cheeses, wines, pastries and other typical products), restaurants, cafes and a lot more.

Eataly Roma

Lively neighborhood with a cool atmosphere, nice restaurants and cafes

Porto Fluviale

Neighbourhood built between 1915 and 1930, outside of the more central areas of the city but easily reachable by public transportation. It boasts some beautifully decorated buildings, check out especially the ones in Piazza Mincio!

Quartiere Coppedè

Cross the bridge for a nice view of the Tevere, close to a fancy Roman neighbourhood. And close to many restaurants and aperitivo spots

Ponte Milvio

One of our favorite museums in Rome, with art works from the last two centuries

National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art

Nice museum located inside Villa Borghese with incredible paintings and sculptures. Remember to book online in advance as it's often quie crowded and admission is limited.

Typical roman food in a nice restaurant built aside the ruins of a Roman Theatre

Hostaria Costanza

Small restaurant in one of the tiny streets of the center, specialized in risotto

Risotteria Melotti Roma

Nice restaurant outside of the more touristic center areas. Locals love going here, so try to make a reservation in advance because it's hard to find a table especially during weekends

Pro Loco Pinciano

Located in a "Bohemian" neighbourhood called Pigneto. It's a nice place for a walk and for many options of Spritz preparations
