We officially met when we were in high school. I was friends with Tommy's older sister, Jade and he was friends with my younger brother, Bubba. We both graduated and went our separate ways. Fast forward 18 years later. I had just moved back to Washington from Oregon and was looking for work. I had a lot of free time on my hands and found myself browsing Facebook. I came across one of Tommy's posts that said, "You probably don't know this is for you...But, if you ever want something real, let me know. I'm right here." I, along with all of his other friends, commented on his post and encouraged him to reach out to his mystery girl. He responded to my comments about being scared she wouldn't like him, maybe had a boyfriend, etc. I responded that he wouldn't know unless he tried and he would regret it if he didn't. A few minutes later... I get a direct message from Tommy admitting that the post was directed at me. I was so flattered and so excited because a part of me was hoping and wishing he was talking about me. I couldn't stop blushing and we exchanged messages. He officially asked me out and it was an easy yes. We met up a few days later for our date at The Ram on the Tacoma waterfront and the rest is history.
Date night rolled around and instead of staying in, Tommy suggested we go out. We attempted to go to the Olive Garden but it was packed so we opted for The Outback. The food was good, the conversation was great and we headed home to relax. We get in the door and Tommy heads into the kitchen as i'm struggling in the foyer to get my boot off and Tommy says to me, "Woman i'm tired of being your boyfriend," and my response was of course"What? What did I do?" He turns to me and continues "Because I want to be your husband." He walks over to me, gets on one knee, presents the ring, and asks me to marry him. I was speechless, he caught me off guard! As soon as I could speak I said yes through my tears and he stood up, wrapped his arms around me and gave me a big kiss.
