FAQs

Question

When and where is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will take place on Thursday 9th April 2026 at Johannesdal 1207, near Stellenbosch, South Africa. There’s a welcome evening on Wednesday 8th April and a recovery brunch on Friday 10th April - so plan for a three-day celebration!

Question

When should we arrive and depart?

Answer

We recommend arriving by Tuesday evening (7th April) to settle in before joining the welcome event, and staying until at least Saturday 11th April. We will be in and around Cape Town from the 31st March until 15th April so if you can, join us before and after to fully enjoy the celebrations and explore the area.

Question

How do we get there?

Answer

The nearest major airport is Cape Town International (CPT) - about 45/50 minutes from both Stellenbosch and Camps Bay. You can easily rent a car, arrange a transfer, or use rideshare apps like Uber. Let us know, we'd be happy to help!

Question

Do we need a visa to enter South Africa?

Answer

Most visitors from the UK, EU, US, Australia, and New Zealand do not need a visa for stays under 90 days. Please check current travel requirements for your nationality before booking.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We’ll be based in Camps Bay and Sea Point before the wedding week - great Airbnb and hotel options there! For the wedding days we will be in Stellenbosch; we recommend staying closer to Johannesdal 1207 or Stellenbosch for convenience. We’ll provide transport from Camps Bay/Sea Point to the venue on the wedding day.

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Welcome Event- Think elegant but relaxed - this is the Winelands, so we’ll be outdoors with mountain views. Wedding Day- Dress for the occasion! Black Tie and Formal Summer Dresses (think Ascot without the hat). There will be grass, so Ladies bare this in mind when choosing your Jimmy Choos! Pool Day- Casual. Pack your trunks!

Question

Can we bring children?

Answer

Children are welcome at the pre and post wedding events, and Johannesdal 1207 is family-friendly with plenty of outdoor space. The wedding day itself will be an adult-focused celebration. There are options for Childcare on the day on-site so let us know and we can help make provisions.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

April in the Cape Winelands is autumn - warm days (22–27°C) and cooler evenings (12–16°C). Bring a light jacket or wrap for later in the evening.

Question

Will food and drinks be provided?

Answer

Absolutely! You’ll be well fed and watered throughout - from the welcome night to the recovery brunch. Come hungry and ready to celebrate!

Question

What else should we do while in South Africa?

Answer

There’s so much to explore! Enjoy wine tastings in Stellenbosch, Table Mountain in Cape Town, the beaches of Camps Bay, or a day trip to the Cape of Good Hope. If you have more time, consider a safari or a few days along the Garden Route.
