Sadly we do not have room to accommodate children at the ceremony, dinner or evening reception. Babies and infants are welcome but please let one of us know.
This is truly an optional get-together for anyone staying nearby on the Friday evening. The vibe will be casual and presents an opportunity to say hello before our big day.
Whilst the dress code is "cocktail", we'd also love for you to embrace the summer setting and wear light, airy colors and fabrics. Please refrain from wearing black. We do not recommend stilettos because of the grounds and grass.
For those attending the ceremony we will have canapes in the garden followed by an early evening meal at 5pm. In the evening we will be serving the wedding cake along with cheese and biscuits but not a full meal. For anyone wanting lunch or a light meal beforehand there are a number of good pubs nearby including The Old House Inn (Copthorne - where the Friday evening welcome party is being held), the Kings Head (Horley), the Farmhouse (Horley) and the Curious Pig in the Parlour (Crawley).
The event ends at midnight but we will be wrapping up from around 11.30pm.
Yes, there is a parking area on-site.
We would like to enjoy an unplugged (no-phones) ceremony, however after that please feel free to take as many pictures as you like! We will provide somewhere to upload all photos after the event.
The greatest gift that you can give us is to be with us in person on our special day - particularly as we know that so many of you are travelling so far. However, we know that many of you have asked about gifts already, so if you would really like to give us something we would most appreciate a modest contribution towards funding the purchase of a home. You can access a link to contribute via the 'Registry' tab (see main menu above), and there will be a card box available on the day.
Nothing has been planned for the Sunday as we are anticipating the need for a quiet day! But we will see how everyone is feeling. Some of you are joining us for the following week on the Greek island of Lefkada. If anyone else would like to join us please get in touch.
Frances' parents would be delighted to offer suggestions of things to do or places to visit including around their home in Salisbury (near Stonehenge!). Do not hesistate to email John at john@thecarneys.co.uk.
We are very excited to celebrate with all our favourite people in such a beautiful place.
