Old Québec is full of charm, both in the Upper Town (Haute-Ville) and Lower Town (Basse-Ville). That said, we recommend booking accommodation in Upper Town if you'd like to avoid steep hills, long stairs, or driving detours on the way to the venue.
Because of the hills, stairs, and fortifications, walking up from Lower Town can be challenging — and driving can sometimes involve detour routes due to the old city layout. Hotels may look close on a map, but in practice, it’s not always the case! Staying Uptown will make getting to the celebration much easier.
