EZEIZA The central airport for international flights is Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) which is located 14 mi from the city. Nearly all international flights arrive here and it is about a 40- to 60-minute ride into the city. Airport Shuttle: The best option is to catch a shuttle with a transfer company such as Manuel Tienda León. You’ll see its stand immediately as you exit customs. IMPORTANT NOTE: When departing Buenos Aires, get to the airport at least two to three hours before your international flight out; security and immigration lines can be long. Be aware that traffic is often bad getting to Ezeiza; it can take an hour or more at times. AEROPARQUE Most domestic flights and flights from bordering countries arrive at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery Airport (AEP) This airport is already in the city in the neighborhood of Palermo.

Weather

November is in the Spring!!! The weather is getting warmer but it's not too hot. This is our favorite month since the jacaranda trees should be in full bloom with purple flowers.

Airbnb

There are great options to rent houses or apartments. Neighborhoods we recomend to stay in are Recoleta, Palermo and Barrio Norte.

Basic Information

Currency: Argentine peso (AR$) Language: Spanish

Travel Note

Exchange Rate

Due to inflation the exchange rate is unpredictable. Any cash that you bring should be new USD $100 bills. If they are smaller bills, if they are worn down, broken or written on the exchange house will not accept these. We recommend to exchange a small amount at the Banco de la Nación Argentina booth in the airport. Additionally, major credit cards should be accepted for most purchases. Please check prior to traveling if your card has international banking capabilities.

Travel Note

Cab Information

This is the safest option for public transport, please make sure to always take a RADIO TAXI. These cabs are affiliated with private companies, they all have a sign either on the side of the doors with a telephone number and/or on the taxi top. Cabs do not accept credit cards. Please make sure to have cash in pesos to pay for your ride. Uber is available, however, many drivers only accept cash as a payment option.

Travel Note

Gratuity

Restaurants expected gratuity is 10% of the total bill. Tipping cab rides is customary by rounding up your total fare. These must be paid in cash.

Travel Note

Etiquette

When meeting friends and family, always greet each other with a kiss on the cheek; if joining a small group, each person should be greeted and kissed. The gesture is repeated when saying goodbye.
