Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Samantha Fox and Carlos Ortiz
We're so excited to share a few of our favorite places in the area with you. Here you can find activities and some of our favorite restaurants!
Monserrate

Monserrate

Carrera 2 Este No. 21-48 Paseo Bolívar, Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia

This is the highest point of Bogota. Standing tall at over 3,000 meters (9,840 feet), you can see Monserrate from pretty much everywhere in town. You can take a cable car or funicular to the top. There are some restaurants at the top (you likely will need a reservation) and also markets to shop around or grab a drink or bite to eat! We recommend you go in the morning or afternoon and take the cable car or train up.

Salt Cathedral

Salt Cathedral

Parque De La Sal, Zipaquirá, Cundinamarca 250252, Colombia

This is a bit of a ride, you will need to arrange transportation to go here. This underground attraction is the First Wonder of Colombia. This is 180 meters underground. To build it, 250 thousand tons of rock salt had to be extracted. This mine is the largest deposit of rock salt in the world.

Usaquén Flea Market

Usaquén Flea Market

Calle 119 Con Carrera 6a, Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia

Artisans line the cobblestoned streets to sell all sorts of local crafts and goods every Sunday. It makes for a fun way to spend the day and grab some traditional Colombian items. The market runs 9am-5:30pm every Sunday.

Gold Museum (Museo Del Oro)

Gold Museum (Museo Del Oro)

Cra. 6 #15-88, Santa Fé, Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia

Opened in 1939, the Gold Museum documents the importance and use of gold in pre-Hispanic civilizations in Colombia and is home to over 55,000 gold items.

Parque de la 93

Parque de la 93

Cra. 93A #11A-41, Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia

Located about a 4 minute walk from the hotel, this park is great to walk around during the day. There are many restaurants and cafes on the streets lining the park, and is a great place to go for a bite or some coffee.

Centro Andino

Centro Andino

82-71 Carrera 11, Bogotá, Bogotá 110221, Colombia

Centro Andino is an upscale shopping mall with many options located about a 14 minute walk from the hotel. Colombia is known for their leather & emeralds. If you are in the area also visit Centro Commercial El Retiro and Atlantis.

Zona T

Zona T

Zona T is about a 17 minute walk or short uber ride from the hotel. This area has a ton of bars and restaurants, as well as some shops a block over.

La Candelaria

La Candelaria

Bogotá, Bogotá, Colombia

La Candelaria is the historic center of Bogota. In this area you'll find colorful colonial architecture, many handicraft shops, restaurants and museums.

Salvaje

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Bogota!

Leo

Leo

Leo is one of the more expensive restaurants in Bogota, we recommend going here if you are looking to splurge and enjoy their tasting menu experience where each bite is paired with a cocktail. You will not be disappointed!

Restaurante Nueve

Restaurante Nueve

Serving tapas and small plates using local Colombian ingredients, Nueve is a restaurant in a traditional house in Bogotá’s Quinta Camacho district with an ever-changing menu from chef Pedro Escobar. The restaurant is set in a small room where the walls are lined with hundreds of bottles and the team is always delighted to recommend pairings.

Hairdressers

He will help coordinate for all the guests. His number is +57 (300) 663-3743

If traveling before or after the wedding...

We recommend you go to either Medellin or Cartegena! These are the more popular places to see in Colombia and have a bit of everything. Cartagena is very warm and has beaches (rent a boat and go to the island of Baru for nicer beaches), and if headed to Cartagena you should stay in the old town. Medellin has great restaurants as well as a party scene. Both cities have airports and are easy direct flights from Bogota. Villa de Leyva is also nice to visit, but you cannot fly there and will need to arrange transportation by car from Bogota.
