It may come with little surprise that we met at a restaurant, and that restaurant happened to be our place of work, il Solito. With an introduction from a mutual friend, we exchanged big smiles, a sturdy handshake... and so began the flirting. After a few outings with the crew for shift drinks, Elijah finally went for it. Leaning over the bar and extending his phone out past our Sous Chef who sat between us, Elijah ever-so-eloquently asked for my number. The first official date was on May 9th, 2018, where we ate at a French restaurant that opened our eyes to how perfect of dining partners we were. The following month was Elijah's 23rd birthday, where we celebrated in Seattle and did the first of family introductions. The shared value of family, amongst other things, is what cemented our bond; and despite his overlook of having told me he was 23 when we had first met, well... this is when our partnership began. Another month had passed, and at the wedding of our Pastry Chef, we were over-served and had to sneak back into the city for second dinner. While waiting for hot dogs at Zach's Shack, beers flowed, and emotions along with it, and we came up with the idea of moving in together. We checked back in with one another the next morning. Gratefully, the feeling was still mutual. Years later, here we still are, and it's quite spectacular to look back on the role that il Solito played in our lives. Between the Chefs who were there for pivotal moments in our relationship, and the many beautiful meals Elijah prepared for our loved ones, we will forever be grateful for the shit show that was il Solito. Now, good riddance to that place, and cheers to all that is ahead. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all!
