Like many modern romances, ours began with a follow and a few likes on Instagram. On a random Wednesday — September 23, 2020 — George Fowler decided to make his move in the only way Instagram knows how: a couple of double-taps. For those unfamiliar with the lingo, it was basically his way of giving Karina “the eyes” from across the bar. Karina didn’t waste any time. After following back and a quick stalk of George’s photos, patience ran out. She sent the simplest yet effective first message: “Hey you.” And just like that, the conversation began. Only a few days later, on Saturday, September 26, George showed up at Karina’s door — Thai green curry ingredients in one hand, and unknowingly, the key to her heart in the other. For those who know Karina, her love of food is no secret… and after one taste of George’s cooking, letting him leave didn’t feel like an option. What was meant to be a casual dinner turned into a three-day first date. From that point forward, the dinners, golf adventures, and green flags just kept coming. It wasn’t long before Karina was head over heels for George — and as for George, well, he’d already known from the very first “Hey you.”
