FAQs

Here we'll try to answer some of your burning questions. If you think of anything else, don't hesitate to ask!
Question

Does your Wedding have a Theme?

Answer

We’re at Disney!! While you expect Renée to have a full-blown Star Wars wedding, she hasn’t convinced George Lucas to rescind his licensing restrictions on such, so we won’t be having our reception aboard the Millennium Falcon. You’ll see Disney Across the Years throughout the wedding as we pay tribute to our favorite movies, rides, and characters from our love of all things Disney (look for hidden Mickeys and Easter Eggs!), and there will be some nods to Star Wars tucked in (remember, Princess Leia is a Disney Princess!).

Question

Will there be Alcohol?

Answer

Absolutely! Is this your First Day? Open Bar, Free Cake, need we say more? Hangovers last only a day, but the memories (good and bad) will last a lifetime!! We will have an open bar throughout our reception, so we ask that you drink responsibly and arrange transportation if you choose to participate in the refreshing adult beverages. Look for our Signature Cocktail!

Question

Are Kids Invited?

Answer

Yes, we welcome your family to celebrate with ours. Our Disney wedding will be family-friendly! If your invitation includes your family, don’t hesitate to bring them along! We do understand that our midday wedding may interfere with naps (for more than just Renée and Tom), or you don’t want to reveal to your kids your wicked dance moves at our reception, so we want you to know that babysitting services are available to Walt Disney World Resort guests through “Kids Nite Out.” https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/child-care-services/

Question

What is the Dress Code?

Answer

We want you to wear clothes—Real Clothes. No bathing suits, no inflatable T-Rex costumes, no HomeDay pants, but we want you to be comfortable. No uniforms please. Let’s relax and have fun! We hope our wedding will be a fun excuse to wear your favorite cocktail attire or show off your Sunday Best!! We’ve been living in our PJs as we social-distanced for a few months earlier this year, so here’s your chance to get all gussied up and enjoy a day out on the town! November weather at Disney should be pretty nice, but it will still be pretty warm—highs near 80°F with lows in the mid 60s. What you can guarantee will be humidity—Big Hair, Don’t Care!

Question

What colors will the wedding party be wearing?

Answer

Our color scheme includes Navy and Burgundy with Gold and Silver Accents. The Ladies will be wearing Burgundy and the Gentlemen will be in Navy, but you're welcome to wear whatever color you like!

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

If you’re staying in one of the Resorts in our Room Block, we’ve arranged transportation to and from those resorts to the Wedding Pavilion for the ceremony and Yacht Club for the Reception. A schedule with pickup times will be provided as we get closer. There is also parking at the Wedding Pavilion and Yacht Club for you to use your own vehicles. Let’s not forget the Minnie Buses and all the Disney on-site options available! With a midday wedding and being on property the day before Thanksgiving, traffic will be heavier. Utilizing on-site transportation may alleviate wait times with Uber and Lyft; personal travelers might use Waze or Google Maps to maximize efficiency with traffic and routes.

Question

Can I bring a Date?

Answer

In order to keep our guest list on track we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. Ask about your +1 if we missed him/her! Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions.

Question

What do we choose to eat? Why is there no menu option on my RSVP card?

Answer

Our pre-reception at the Asbury Patio of the Yacht Club Resort will have many hors d’oevres and refreshing beverages, and the reception will not disappoint! We’ve selected a premium menu for you to choose your dinner selection tableside from three different proteins, with appetizers, salads, and dessert; and let’s not forget CAKE! If you leave hungry, that’s on you!

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

Please let us know soonest of your dietary restrictions. Disney is very accommodating to all your needs! We want you to be safe and comfortable! Nothing will seem crazy, since the Bride is allergic to chocolate!

Question

Can I take and post pictures on social media?

Answer

Are they incriminating? Do your photos make us look fat? Then No. But yes, we encourage you to post pictures on social media; our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #foundmybayerhalf so we can keep track of all of your pictures! We will also be using The Guest app (invitations and instructions coming soon) to capture this wonderful week!

Question

Who should I contact with any questions?

Answer

Renée and Tom welcome your questions! Feel free to reach out in any way necessary—phone, email, text, smoke signal, pigeon, message in a bottle across the Atlantic, etc. As the Wedding Day draws near, we’ll make sure you have good contact info for our battle buddies looking out for us and fielding questions/needs.

For all the days along the way
