Our Story, Her POV

First comes MOD, then comes Marriage

Trinity's sister-in-law, Emma, knew for quite some time that Trin and Derek just needed to meet. Through a not-so-subtle setup, they were able to meet for the first time over some pizza at MOD. Within a few days, it became clear that there was something special between them. Over the next three months of summer, they spent time getting to know each other, laughing, creating inside jokes, and falling in love. Although they knew it wouldn't be easy, they decided to commit to long distance with one another for two years, separated by 1,710 long miles. However, there was never a doubt that the two of them had been brought together by God for a purpose, and that their beautiful relationship was worth every mile. As their love continued to grow with each day, they knew that marriage was where they were happily headed. Then, on June 27, in Mykonos, Greece, Derek got down on one knee and asked Trin to be his wife. Absolutely ecstatic, Trin said "absolutely I will", and right then and there they got engaged. They set the wedding date for June 28, exactly one day before their two year anniversary. And the rest? Well, we're living out the rest. Welcome to forever with us.

Our Story, His POV

A Tiger Meets a Bear

Trinity's sister-in-law, Emma, is quite the planner. Turns out, she is also pretty good at setting two singles up. We would later find out that there were discussions brewing in the background for quite some time about this and when Emma finally had an opportunity for us to meet, a group of us went to lunch together. It was an easy, low-stress way to introduce us to each other and see how we would interact. Afterwards, Emma would ask us both what we thought about the other and there was definitely mutual interest to explore the potential. We began spending lots of time together and really getting to know the other because we knew that marriage was the ultimate goal and in order to get there, we had to establish if this was indeed the person that God would call us to pursue. A month later, knowing that starting this journey would mean accepting long-distance as our normal for a time, we began dating. As difficult as the coming years would be at times, I am so grateful for the growth that our relationship got to experience and I believe that our emotional intimacy and love grew deeper and quicker because of the distance. I purchased her engagement ring in April of 2024 and on June 27, 2024, after walking around Mykonos, Greece, we came to these iconic windmills. I got down on one knee, and asked Trinity to marry me. We then celebrated our 1 year anniversary two days later. When we started planning our wedding and looking at the calendar, we saw that in June 2025 there was one particular weekend where we could celebrate three big events in a row. Friday the 27th, one year of engagement, Sunday the 29th, our two year anniversary, and knowing that our wedding could fit perfectly in between on Saturday the 28th, it was not much of a discussion. We thank God everyday for all He has done in our lives, and for the hope of what He will continue to do and we are so excited for all of you to be able to celebrate these days with us and contribute to our special story.
