The first adventure

This story begins in 2019. Julie, not one for the dating apps, decided it was time to put herself out there. With the help of her friends Kate and Brian, they curated her profile and left her to start swiping. Only a short mile and a half away Bryan was growing fed up with the dating scene and was swiping away on his own device. Little did they know their lives were about to change forever. As luck would have it (anyone who has ever online dated will confirm, getting this lucky just isn’t something that happens every day) - Bryan was Julie's first match. After some great exchanges online, they agreed to meet at Austin Beerworks for their first official date. Julie, full of nerves, decided to bring her dog, Luna, along, just in case the date went south and she needed an easy out. It goes without saying that an easy out was not needed! Julie and Bryan bonded over their mutual love for craft beer, traveling, adventures, and their dogs. They went on a second date and a third and before they knew it, were planning their future together, which to date has included trips to Chile to see the Atacama Desert and Patagonia, the Pacific Northwest and Olympic National Park, the Bahamas, and Big Bend National Park.

The forever adventure

The latest adventure they’re embarking on - marriage - all started with a two-week road trip to the Palo Duro Canyon, Crested Butte, and Santa Fe. The trip started early on a Saturday morning, and about halfway through the 8-hour drive, Julie noticed that the weather for their upcoming three days in the Palo Duro Canyon was not ideal for hiking. Wanting to still get the most out of their trip, they decided to drive right to the canyon and hike the Lighthouse Trail, and head to Aspen the following day. Unbeknownst to Julie, Bryan was planning to propose on the Lighthouse Trail, just not on Saturday! Bryan remained calm throughout the drive, preparing himself to propose in only a few short hours. After an hour of hiking, Julie and Bryan made it to the top of the canyon, where you take in a panoramic view of the park. As they set up their tripod to take a photo of the two of them, Bryan sneakily turned his camera from taking a photo to a video. As Julie nudged him to pose for the photo, Bryan refused and when she looked over at him, realized this was the moment! Bryan got down on one knee and secured his adventure partner for life. Their road trip then turned into an engagement trip, and they celebrated by hiking, horseback riding, and fishing in Aspen, Crested Butte, and Santa Fe. They are so excited to start their forever adventure together and are looking forward to you being a part of their special day!
