FAQs

These should *hopefully* answer all the hard hitting questions you have about our big day! If there's a question you can't find an answer to, please don't hesitate to reach out... to Jim
Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

We're having both the ceremony and reception at The Cliff House in the Bishop Arts neighborhood in Dallas. Their address is 610 N. Tyler Street, Dallas, TX 75208. Check it out here: https://www.cliffhousetexas.com/

Question

When are the RSVPs due?

Answer

We'll be sending out formal invitations closer to our big day with the RSVP due date, and of course we’d love to know if you can make it (we hope you can!). You can RSVP on this very site through the RSVP tab in the menu or by using the RSVP card that will be coming to you in the mail.

Question

If I'm from out of town, where can I stay?

Answer

We have reserved a block of rooms at the brand new Courtyard Marriott in downtown Dallas near Reunion Tower. Click over to the Travel page to find the link to book your room or you can call Calvin Sharp, our wonderfully helpful sales manager at 214-214-5638 or Stacy at 214-214-5636. Just be sure to tell them you're booking a room in the Foster/Taylor block, and please note that you must book by 4/12/19 to get the discounted rate. There are also some cute Airbnb options nearby, should you prefer that to a hotel. In case you're new to Airbnb, you can save $40 on your stay by using this link: www.airbnb.com/c/saraht6609

Question

What's parking like at the venue?

Answer

In a word, limited. Bishop Arts is a very fun area of Dallas, but it's built up around a real neighborhood, which means there is limited parking. We strongly recommend taking an Uber or Lyft to get to and from the venue. Also because we love you and want you to get home safe and sound, this is a much better option than driving!

Question

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

We hope our wedding will be a fun excuse to wear your favorite cocktail attire!

Question

Will the ceremony be taking place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both ceremony and reception will be indoors. Cocktail hour will be indoor/outdoor.

Question

Will there be food and drinks served?

Answer

Oh yes there will! We will have passed appetizers during cocktail hour, an open bar with wine and beer, as well as a wonderful, Southern dinner, and four flavors of wedding cupcakes! Our main mission is to make you stuffed!

Question

Can I take pictures and/or post photos of your wedding on social media?

Answer

Of course! We'd love to see all the pics you take at the wedding, so be sure to tag them with #myheartbeatsfoster. We do ask though, that there be no flash photography during the ceremony. Not a shutterbug, no worries, we have hired a wonderful photographer - John Benitez - who will be capturing all the memorable moments from the night, so feel free to unplug and enjoy!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is gift enough. Seriously. But because you asked we are registered right here on Zola! Click over to the Registry tab to shop everything, from anywhere, at any time! Our address is linked to the site, so they'll know exactly where to send your wonderful gift!

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We love ALL of your children; however, we have decided to make this an adults-only celebration in order to allow all guests, including parents, an evening of relaxation and fun! We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day and will enjoy having the evening off!

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Due to venue capacity we can’t host any additional guests that didn’t receive formal invitations

Question

I came all way to Texas, where's the BBQ?

Answer

Valid question. Texas BBQ is the best anywhere, and we will challenge anyone on that! While our personal favorite is a bit of a drive from the downtown Dallas area, there are plenty of other amazing places to get your brisket fix. One of Sarah's favorites in the area is Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum. They're open at 11am until they sell out, and they often do, so get here early. Also, do not miss the mac and cheese; it is beyond words! Our other recommendation is right down the road from our venue in Bishop Arts, Lockhart Smokehouse. We highly recommend the jalapeno sausage, but really you can't go wrong with anything you get here!

Question

We love y'all, but we also want to see Chip and Joanna Gaines during our trip!

Answer

Thanks, we love you too! Also, can't blame you, they're amazing people (not that we know them personally). Waco is about an hour and half drive from downtown Dallas, and Magnolia Market at the Silos is a ton of fun! We went there for Sarah's birthday in 2017 and loved it! If you go, plan to spend a good portion, if not your whole day here. The store has a lot to look through and there's a wonderful food truck park out back - get the Gut Pak from Viteks, just trust us on this. Bonus, if you want to stay in one of the real Fixer Uppers, there are a few of them to rent on Airbnb (another reason to try it out). Also, while you're in Waco, be sure to take a trip to Harp Design Co, and if you want to send us a few more of their shelves, we definitely wouldn't turn them down!
