It all began one summer evening when fate decided to bring us together. Madeline was about to turn 13, and Brandon was already 13 two shy, slightly awkward teenagers who had no idea that day would change their lives forever. It’s funny to look back now, because Brandon thought Madeline was 18 (Still not sure how she definitely didn’t look 18.) Maybe it was because of her leopard print dress and matching shoes not her usual style at all. She didn’t even want to go out that evening, but maybe it was meant to be, because if she hadn’t followed her mom out that summer night, she might never have met Brandon when she did. When they arrived, there was an empty seat, and Brandon offered it to her and even held her bag which she thought was so strange at the time. (“Why is he standing next to me holding my bag?” They still laugh about it.) Even to this day, he still holds her bag because he knows she likes her hands free. Brandon took money from his mom to go get Madeline a drink, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Now, this part will forever be up for debate! According to both of their parents, Madeline and Brandon met for the first time in Tivoli Park. But according to them, their real first meeting the first time they actually spoke to each other was at Kruidtuin during Park Pop. And honestly, this friendly disagreement will probably go on forever! That night, when Madeline got home, she added Brandon on Facebook, thinking, he seems like a nice guy we could be friends since she didn’t really have friends because she was new to the country. What she didn’t know was that, for Brandon, it was already love at first sight. They stayed friends from 2013 all the way until the world slowed down during COVID. Then, on February 5th, 2019. Brandon asked Madeline for the 100th time to be his girlfriend. Of course, she teased him a bit (like she always did), but this time, after many years she finally said yes and she’s so glad she did. Now, six years later, they’re both about to begin a new and beautiful chapter together. They’ve grown up side by side laughing endlessly, building a strong bond, supporting each other through everything, and keeping God at the center of their love.
