We are so relieved that the vaccine is making it possible for us to safely celebrate with all of you. We are well aware that these are precarious times we are living through, and we want you to know that if things change and the wedding will be dangerous to have, we won't hesitate to postpone it for the safety of everyone involved. We hope that you will make the decision to vaccinate against Covid 19 so that we can minimize risk at the wedding celebration.
We are thrilled to be hosting our wedding at a very special place in our hearts, Lake Toxaway. The lake holds many special family memories, as well as memories for us as a couple. We are so fortunate to have a tie to this special place through Hannah's stepfather, Reg, who owns the club and realty company there. Funnily enough Hannah's father and stepmother, Shane and Carolyn, were also married at Lake Toxaway. Hannah has also spent a high school summer working at the club, and has many happy memories there. Matt has been lucky enough to celebrate all of his July birthdays at Lake Toxaway since he and Hannah started dating. Keppie (our dog) loves to roam around sniffing, but never swimming, in the backyard of the lake house and riding in the boat. We love the lake and the time spent with family and friends there. We can't wait for you to experience our favorite place with us for our wedding ceremony.
We met on the dating app OkCupid. After determining that we would probably be compatible (~93% according to the algorithm) and that Matt probably wasn’t a serial killer, we went to Mellow Mushroom for our first date. Hannah was vegan, and Matt was sweet enough to share a Thai Dye vegan pizza. He gingerly held Hannah’s foot while looking at her tattoo and she knew he was special. We will have been together for 5 years when we get married in October.
