As per usual, Rachel is running late to physics lab, so Alex volunteers to be her partner. They laughed over Newton's Law puns while singing along to Howie Day's hit single "Collide". After that, Alex mustered up the courage to ask Rachel to be his finals project partner (His idea of a date). Little did he know, she had secretly hoped that he would ask her. From Chick-fil-a sandwich dates with too much ketchup to long distances between Phoenix, Tucson, Pomona, Long Beach and Houston — Here they are now!

Immediately following Rachel's medical school graduation, in a car full of family, they drove up to Malibu, CA under the disguise of taking graduation photos. She was suspicious that something was up, but was curious to play along. After a quick hike, to her surprise, at the peak of Point Dume was planted a picture collage over their years together. With friends and family as witness, Alex went on one knee, said some things that neither vaguely remember, and she said YES!
