In the fall of 2019, a simple swipe right on the dating app, Bumble, changed Jacob & Laura’s lives forever. They swiped, they chatted and they quickly connected on mutual interests like music, life goals and humor. They met after two weeks of chatting and had a fun first date that included drinks at Horses and Divorces, more drinks at Maison Premiere, and dancing at Bembe. Over the course of the next month Jacob & Laura went on 13 dates (yes, Laura kept track) and grew closer together. After a few months the world shut down and Jacob & Laura bunkered down, taking turns at eachother’s apartments (no easy feat with a tween, 3 cats and 1 dog). After taking a little break that late summer, they came back together and realized they never wanted to spend any more time apart. They traveled, went on hikes and then found out they were expecting a baby girl the following year. Looking to create a new home and life together, they bought a house and welcomed Rooney Poore soon after. In September 2022, they went on their first big international family trip to Spain. On a boat in Majorca, via Jake’s karaoke delivery of David Bowie’s “Be My Wife” and rose petals thrown around by Liam, they became happily engaged. Laura was born and raised in Queens, New York. Laura welcomed her first child, Liam Burke, while studying in college. Despite the obstacles, Laura graduated with her BA and MS in Accounting and went on to become a CPA, working at a Big Four accounting firm. After welcoming her second child, Rooney, Laura decided to support the family and house by being a stay at home mom. Jacob was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He studied music at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. After college, Jacob decided to move to NYC to pursue his passions. Today, Jacob works in Real Estate and lives in Queens, NY with Laura, Liam, Rooney and their four pets; Juice, Denim, Z and Malomar.
