FAQs (So much info! Please read)

All the things I would want to know before RSVPing/attending a wedding: attire, parking, accommodations, etiquette, etc. Don't hesitate to ask us anything if we haven't covered it here.
Question

What exactly is the attire?

Answer

Beach casual - Short sleeve shirts - Sure - Shorts - NO - we aren't that fancy but let's stay classy - Jeans - No thank you. Embrace the beachy vibe. - Sandals - YES - you will be in the sand. Or no shoes at all! - Sport Coats - Not necessary - again, not that fancy

Question

What should I do if I already know I can't make it?

Answer

We'll miss you bunches! Please let us know ASAP if you won't be able to make it so we can plan accordingly. You can call, text, or email us even if you've only received the Save-the-Date. We know that traveling to an event can be a lot to ask so we understand completely.

Question

Will the ceremony be in the sand? What about the reception?

Answer

The ceremony will be in the sand. We'll have a place for your shoes and complimentary foot exfoliant (sand). The reception will be in a covered pavilion with fans and a view of the ocean. As the beach is in October, it'll probably be perfect during the day but there could be a cool breeze at night. Please dress accordingly and come prepared.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

We love your little ones but we want to make sure everyone can stay up late with us and have a great time. Please leave the kiddos at home. Thank you

Question

Can I bring a guest/date?

Answer

Due to limited space, we're only able to accommodate those formally invited on your invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Question

Where can I park? (the question I ask the most)

Answer

Our venue has a large parking lot directly next to the reception venue, The Shorehouse. You can walk around to the pier that leads out onto the sand. https://www.omnihotels.com/-/media/images/hotels/hltnhd/hotel/details/hltnhd-omni-hilton-head-oceanfront-resort-map.pdf

Question

Are there multiple options of places to stay nearby?

Answer

YES!! You can stay at the resort in our reserved block of rooms. There are multiple other resorts on the beach. Those large chain hotels like Marriott and Hampton and Hilton are all nearby. There are plenty of beach houses (vrbo/AirBnB) to rent if you want to stay with friends or family (or just want a place to yourself). See the Accommodations tab above.,

Question

How and when do I RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 5th using the RSVP tab above. If we do not receive an RSVP, we will assume you're unable to make it.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin exactly at 4:30. Please be sure to arrive and be seated no later than 4:00 and allow plenty of time to get through the gate, maintain the 25mph speed limit, and get a good parking spot.

Question

Will it be open bar?

Answer

Do you know us at all? Our wedding will be open bar...but we will also have a photographer. So any shenanigans will be thoroughly documented and mocked for years to come. Please be responsible.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you keep your phone in your purse/pocket and silenced so that we can enjoy the moment for ourselves. We've hired a fantastic photographer who will be sure to get all the photographs you could want. Once the ceremony is over, please get that phone out and take as many photos as you want. We will have a QR code on each table which will allow you to upload your photos for us to see and allow you to see photos taken by others. We want to be able to look back on all the memories from this day.

Question

What do I do if I'm late to the ceremony?

Answer

If you're late, please don't walk down the aisle and try to find a seat. We'd appreciate if you would either just stand off to the side or wait to join us until the reception.
