It was Amanda's senior year at Virginia Tech when she was invited to hang out with some friends. At first, she declined with the excuse of needing to do homework, but at the last minute changed her mind. Alex, a junior at Tech, found himself at the same apartment that night. Their paths first crossed when Amanda saved Alex's glasses after he accidentally dropped them while cleaning the lenses. The two chatted for the rest of the night. Thankfully for Alex, Amanda reached out the next day via Facebook to make sure he made it home safely. The pair kept in touch over Facebook for the next few weeks and over Spring Break. The day before classes started back up, Amanda invited Alex over for dinner and a movie, as he had worked a full day after driving back to Blacksburg. The fajitas Amanda made weren't the only thing sizzling that night - Alex finally mustered the courage to ask for Amanda's phone number. The two were practically inseparable until Amanda graduated and moved to DC. After a year of long distance, Alex joined Amanda in Northern Virginia. Three years after they met, Amanda found herself in Denver for work. On the first weekend, Amanda and a friend decided to go for a hike. After taking in the view, Amanda turned around to see Alex walking towards her. After much shouting and crying, Amanda said yes to her forever!
