Gallaudet University
Gallaudet University is a historic university established for the higher education of the Deaf. Gallaudet University has museums, hotel, a disc golf course (the first one in D.C.), and easy access to the rest of D.C.! Gallaudet University is the closest university campus to the U.S. Capitol. Michael and Sam met here as students and graduated in the same class of 2021.
Union Market
Many delicious food options and fun stores to look through! This is right next to Gallaudet University (although the Gallaudet University's gate on 6th street is closed to visitors on weekends - you might have to use the front entrance of Gallaudet University)
National Mall
Welcome to Washington D.C.! All Smithsonian Institutions museums are FREE to enter. Some places (such as the National Monument or the White House) need tickets reserved in advance.
Eastern Market
Chic and hippy area. Eastern Market has a super old historic market building you should check out. Their market is always open but they also have year-around farmer market that opens almost all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
Georgetown
Super posh, academic, and gorgeous brick buildings on M street. Has a great waterfront (You also can see the Kennedy center across the Potomac river). You might see rowboats rowing across the river! The hilltop campus is also a beauty to see!
National Harbor
Super close to D.C.! Great views at nighttime and great food. The Ferris Wheel is a highly recommended activity.
Arlington
Many things to see and do in Arlington - a beautiful town and shops, the Arlington National Cemetery and the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial, the Pentagon, gorgeous bike trails along the Potomac river with views of the National Mall and the Capitol.
