In October, Flagstaff is usually transitioning into autumn with mild temps in the daytime ranging from 60-75 degrees. Evenings can get chilly dropping as low as 20-30 degrees (coats/jackets are recommended). Rain is not uncommon. Although Flagstaff is in Arizona, we are at 7.000 feet altitude so we usually enjoy all four seasons.
Hmm, good question. There are tons of hiking and biking trails in and around Flagstaff. We are approximately 1 hour from the Grand Canyon and 45 minutes from Sedona. Downtown Flagstaff is quaint with local shops and artist galleries (and a not-too-bad food scene).
