It was the summer of 2014 the first time Michael and I met. Our mutual friend, Georgie, was hosting a party in Wickford, RI. We chatted that evening, but nothing came of it. Fast forward 5 months later, I was visiting New York City to celebrate the birthday of two of my oldest and best friends, Christina and Cassy Lombardi. Mike went to Quinnipiac with Christina so he was at the bar celebrating with us. Being totally honest, I did not remember Mike, but I noticed him right away and asked Christina who her cute friend was. Turns out Mike did remember me from the summer but pretended not to know me when he realized I didn't recognize him. I went over, introduced myself, and we spent the entire evening talking. During our conversation it came to my attention that Mike had been living in NYC for 2 months and had never had Artichoke Pizza. We promptly left the bar and went to Artichoke in the east village. We've been eating together ever since. -AF
