We walked into the bowling alley as two strangers. We took a risk going on a date with someone unknown, but once the conversation started it felt like we had known each other for years. We got so distracted getting to know each other that we ended up stealing each other’s turn. Half the time we had no idea whose turn it really was! Our conversations continued for hours after the game and the night ended in my dorm's parking lot, where he walked me to the entrance, gave me a hug and said, "I'll see you next time."

Our families were in Bowling Green visiting us for the weekend. Zach came up with the idea of going to the Baker Arboretum, to look at the flowers and get some nice pictures taken. We walked all around the Arboretum, taking in the beauty (and the wind!) as we went along. Once we had gone all the way through we went back to our favorite spot, a bridge surrounded by beautiful greenery, to get some family shots. My family went first, then Zach and I. We took a few and then Zach started reminding me about how crazy the past 3 years had been for us – getting a dog, moving, graduations, jobs. He had done this before, acted as though he was going to propose and then ask a silly question, or tie his shoe, or open a box of doughnuts (ask him about that one) before casually moving on or making a joke. I laughed, figuring that this was another of his jokes, and said, "don't do this to me" and he said, "I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to marry me." As he got down on one knee it hit me that this time it was the real deal! I didn't have to think twice about my answer, "YES!"
