Our Love Story

It all started with 60 miles in between them. Hailey and Zach were from two different towns in Central Texas. So close, yet so far. The odds of them meeting were slim to none, yet God found a reason and a way to bring them together through the dating app, Bumble. They instantly found a connection with their mutual love for Texas country music & the great outdoors. Hailey swooned over the fact that Zach sang and played the guitar. Zach promised her a Cody Johnson song and asked her to go on a date. Hailey went to her sister’s salon to get her hair curled before their first date. Hailey showed pictures of Zach to her sister and she said, “Hailey you are going to marry that man, he has such genuine eyes.” Hailey laughed and thought once again, her sister had lost her mind. Zach and Hailey met at a mexican restaurant in Belton, TX. Zach was hooked from the very beginning by Hailey’s beautiful smile and personality. Hailey was lost in Zach’s genuine blue eyes all night long and started to think her sister wasn’t so crazy, he was the sweetest man she had ever met and really good to look at too. It was an instant connection. They both left that night over the moon for one another. Zach told Hailey there was something special about her and said he was going to keep it under his hat for a while. Together they grew their relationship and weathered the storm that was 2020. They kept the roads hot between The Grove and Leander, enjoying every moment they had together. Through it all, Covid could not keep them down, even when Zach got it! They danced in the kitchen, instead of dancehalls. Took road trips, rather than airplane rides. Drank coffee at home while Zach strummed the guitar. Loved on their sweet dogs, Ellie & Misty. They also enjoyed turkey hunts, deer hunts, camping, hiking, fishing, coed softball, touring local wineries & breweries and so much more.

The Proposal

On their one year anniversary, Zach told Hailey they were going to dinner in Salado, TX. After passing the exit, she tells him he had gone too far. He tells her they have to go take care of something first. Hailey gets super nervous not knowing where they are going. They get to Temple, TX and Zach makes her put on a blindfold. After what seemed like an hour drive, they finally arrive to their destination. Zach helps Hailey out of the truck and her favorite song comes on… “More Than My Hometown” by Morgan Wallen. Hailey takes the blindfold off and they are in her hometown…The Grove, TX. Zach reads Hailey a poem he wrote for her and finally tells her what he’s been holding under his hat for so long and asks her to be his wife! Of course, she said YES!
