How We Met

November 3, 2024

They met at church—simple as that. A week before, Bethany's best friend called and said, “There’s a guy at church who’s totally your type.” She wasn’t wrong. Cute, wearing cowboy boots and a flannel—Bethany was instantly smitten. After service, Colin came over to her parents' house to hang out. Bethany showed him a TikTok and totally invaded his personal space (no regrets). And just like that... the rest is history.

Our First "Almost" Date

12/15/2024

Colin joined Bethany's family one evening as they strolled down Christmas Tree Lane. At some point, he looked over at her and said, “My hand is so cold… would you hold it for me?” He was completely surprised when she smiled and said, “Yes.”

Our "Actual" First Dates

12/21/2024 + 12/22/2024

They cooked dinner together and watched a movie—just a simple, cozy night. But there was excitement in the air: the next day was his birthday, and Bethany was about to meet his family for the first time. She was extremely nervous at dinner, but the nerves quickly melted away when his whole family jokingly told him she was way out of his league. Later, sitting in the car, still smiling from the night… she kissed him.

The Proposal

5/25/2025

Once Colin decided it was time to propose, he kept spilling all the details to Bethany. He couldn't hold in his excitement and wanted to ensure it was everything she could ever want. He let her pick out the ring with him, not knowing she'd pay attention to shipping dates. She accidentally let it slip that she knew he'd have a ring in two weeks so he had to get creative. Colin and her dad came up with a plan. The only real way to shock her would be to buy an ADDITIONAL ring that would be here way faster. He proposed the very next day. He texted her family at 8am and thankfully they were all at church- where there happens to be a box or two of "pretty things". By 10am, the proposal area was set and ready to go! His family was able to make it to the church with just enough time. After church, Colin told Bethany that he needed to help clean the back patio from kid's church. Bethany thought she was going outside to help pick up a bounce house, but the only one bouncing was her mom after the proposal.
