Gabby lived at the top of the hills of Laventille, and Antoine lived at the bottom. Every morning, she would walk past his house on her way to UWI, completely unaware that her future husband was just a few steps away. One special morning, Antoine made sure to be seen and positioned himself with perfect timing, he greeted her with a simple, “Good morning.” And just like that, a love story was brewing… Curious and Intrigued, Antoine reached out through a mutual friend who was more than happy to put in a good word for him. A Facebook message was sent…and though left unread for a few days (oops!) … Gabby finally opened it, and everything started to fall into place, slowly but perfectly. Their first casual meet-up was in none other than… “Francis Fashion Shoe Store”, just to be safe! They got to see each other face to face, walked around Port of Spain for a bit, and took their first taxi ride back home together. After a few dates and many long phone calls later, they decided it was time to ‘meet the parents.’ Gabby met with Antoine’s parents and was warmly welcomed. Though she was nervous, the interaction was filled with kindness, warmth and open arms. When it came time for Antoine to meet Gabby’s parents, he bravely showed up, overcame the nerves and boldly stated his intentions toward their daughter. Admittedly, he was a bit intimated by her father’s silence, but her mother’s warm welcome eased his nerves and reassured his acceptance. A strong foundation was set for the future and on December 2nd, 2016, Antoine and Gabriella officially began their relationship. Throughout their years, they shared many inside jokes, tackled life’s toughest challenges, and built a relationship rooted in support, love, faith, and friendship. On July 27th, 2024, after years of building something real and lasting, and excited about what the future hold, Antoine popped the big question—and with eyes full of happy tears, Gabby said yes to his proposal!!! Now, they're counting down to their happily ever after.... So come celebrate with them as they eagerly await their next chapter: Marriage! ❤
