Sonni & Denise, a true story of true love

Dee & Sonni met on Facebook. Sonni saw a photo of Dee and immediately was drawn to her. She sent a photo of Dee’s page to a mutual friend (who will be in the Wedding:) in a text saying, “Um, who is this girl? I want her.” Luckily for them both, Sonni was not hesitant on private messaging Dee and asking if she was single and confessing that she was crushing hard. They began talking and laughing then and haven’t stopped since.

Denise and Sonni first met on a summer night in August 2017. Sonni went to pick her up and when she pulled up, Denise opened the door and had a dozen yellow roses! Sonni had mentioned briefly during one of their phone conversations that her favorite color was red but her favorite flower had always been yellow roses. When Sonni mentioned how surprised she was that Denise remembered what she said, Denise’s response was “I told you, I pay attention to detail.” They then went to KINGS BOWLING in Lynnfield and spent the night bowling. Or, Dee bowling and Sonni attempting to haha. Sonni says she had this overwhelming feeling to cuddle on Dee that night and Dee says she just wanted to be closer to her. Those mutual feelings are still there and those same roses are hanging in their home today.

On Sunday August 5th 2018, just 3 weeks before their one year anniversary, Denise invited all of Sonnis closest friends to surprise her at a cirque du Soleil show in Boston. Unknown to Sonni, all of them along with a professional Videographer and Photographer were scattered around the arena while Sonni, Dee, and Romeo watched the show. Just before intermission, Denise asked Romeo to take Sonni to the bathroom and coached him to stay in the stall a very long time. This allowed for everyone to surround a photo op before they made it back. When Sonni came to see all of her friends she was so surprised! She still however had NO IDEA what was about to happen. When she saw all of her friends she thought THAT was the surprise! She greeted everyone before they told her to go have her picture taken. Denise & Sonni posed for a photo then Dee dropped to one knee and said “Will you marry me Sonni? You make me so happy and I love you so much!” Sonni said yes and gave a hop for joy when she saw her ring! It was the one that had made her soul hiccup a couple months before! Denise then took her to a restaurant where 22 of their family and friends were awaiting them to surprise Sonni and Celebrate.
