In October 2020, Ty and Sarah met for the first time in Helena, MT. One autumn evening, they went on a cruise in Ty's old Ford on the ranch, where they were hunting nuisance coyotes. As they shared stories, they successfully killed a coyote. By the time Sarah was heading home, Ty wrapped her in a warm bear hug, leaving her heart full. Just three months later, the pair were smitten with each other. The couple's relationship began at the ranch, where they worked side by side, bonding over the everyday rhythm of ranch life. They also enjoyed time with family and friends, rodeos, and winter activities in the mountains. After a year of getting to know one another, learning each other’s quirks, Ty and Sarah’s relationship grew deeper. In February 2021, Ty signed up for the Navy. You might say we both signed up. In February 2022, Ty left for basic training. They’ve been separated for two years between military training and deployment. Meanwhile, Sarah wrapped up school for her master’s degree. For two years, Sarah traveled coast to coast to visit Ty. In December 2023, Ty visited home for Christmas, and they took a short trip to the mountains. They planned to ski at the Great Divide Ski Area, where they had their first date. A snowy adventure with a snuggle on the chairlift. Just three years later, the ski hill was closed. Ty wanted to propose on the ski hill, but the weather had other plans. Instead, they enjoyed a cozy weekend at the cabin. After their trip, Ty had a flight to catch back to San Diego, CA. After breakfast, they were heading to the airport, Ty looked at Sarah, and said, “I need to pull over.” He pulled over and reassured her, “You will understand in a second, it’s okay.” He opened the door, took Sarah by the hand, he said, “I've been meaning to ask you something.” Then he knelt down on one knee to propose. Ty surprised Sarah with a beautiful ring and asked her to marry him, she said Yes! On a beautiful chilly day in December, we promised our hearts to each other forever. We're grateful to remember that our love is rooted in true friendship. The admiration, love, and respect we had for one another grew; and today, these three words run deeper than ever - 'I love you'. This is our favorite forever love story!
