Our Story

Ashley and Austin have known each other for many years longer than the almost 8 years they have been dating. Back in 2013 There was a Dance at Mt.Hood Athletic Club where Ashley got a ride home with Austin's Aunt Amber, where she met Austin who was in the car as he was staying the night at his aunt's house that night. They flirted or "poked fun" at each other all the way to Ashley's Parents house to drop her. Awkward, we know. Someone gave Austin Ashley's number, from then forward they talked and texted almost every day for a while until Austin got a girlfriend. From that point on they were strictly friends, Ashley’s rules. Over the next 5 years they would hang out every now and then, but it wasn't until the summer of 2017 when they started hanging out almost daily. They were, still, only friends at the time, and hung out with another mutual friends house often. They would throw parties, go to parties, rodeos, car shows and carnivals throughout the summer. In August Ashley, drunkenly, admitted to Austin her feelings for him would never change. Austin, who was single at the time, then tried really hard to keep Ashley from changing her mind. They continued to hang out almost daily and Ashley chose to put their friendship/ relationship to the test and bring Austin to her dads 50th Birthday party where a large amount of her family would be. Austin passed the family test and they started dating officially shortly after. Soon into their relationship Ashley had got into a car accident and her vehicle was down for some time. She had to rely on Austin and her extended family to give her rides to work and home so she had started living with Austin and his family in the meantime. Ashley’s stay was always meant to be short term but she ended up living with the Reeder’s not long after that. Ashley and Austin lived with his parents for around 3 years, helped them with their new place and stay-cationed during the COVID Pandemic Shut-Down. About the time the stay in place mandate was lifted Ashley and Austin started looking for a place to call their own. They found a great home in Sandy and Austin put the offer in with the help of his parents and their realtor friend Salina. Shortly after moving into their new place, fires had started nearby in Estacada. Although they lived in Sandy, the evacuation line had been reaching their house rapidly so they moved back in with the Reeder’s for a few weeks until the fire had been fought/ died down. After they had got settled back in they decided it was time for a dog and a few days after the decision they picked up Buckley their now 4 almost 5 year old Border Collie. Shortly after they got Buckley they got COVID and spent their Thanksgiving quarantined, and explored to themselves up in the woods and spent that time to get Buckley trained to perfection. A few summers later they figured he needed a friend so they got Buckley a “feral” cat from under Judy and Jerry's deck and named him Smokey. (More animals to come) Last Summer Austin and Ashley Moved into their “Venue” Which used to be where Ashley’s Grandma Rachel had lived. Both are excited for their new adventures on this property. They plan to build a shop and a cozy house with enough room for their future children, and guests, when needed. Ashley and Austin do nearly everything together, they live together, work together, hunt, fish, etc... They share many of the same hobbies and try to get on board with the hobbies they don’t share. Ashley and Austin have gone through a lot together. From losses of family and friends, to moving time and time again, large disagreements and other large decisions made together, 2 smaller remodels, Raising a dog and a cat, working together, wedding planning, and so much more. They know their future holds a lot with building a house, shop, and family together. They have been able to take on everything that has come their way so far and know they are strong enough to handle anything together.

For all the days along the way
