The two would first cross each other’s path at Denbigh High School in 2007. It was in 10th grade where Rosie and Matthew shared a Spanish class together. Not anyone could imagine what the future held for these two. It was in 2009, when the two coincidentally sat next to each other at the Old Dominion University freshman orientation. Not realizing they were attending the same college, they engaged in some conversation and then the two exchanged numbers. From that day forward the rest has been history. Rosie fell in love with Matthews' kind, patient, easy going personality while Matthew couldn't help himself from Rosie’s charming and naturally loving spirit. In the years that pass, the couple created countless memories together with family and friends through vacations, gatherings, and holidays. Matthew and Rosie welcomed a fur baby into their home in 2018 who goes by the name, Macie. She is a loving Chocolate Lab mix who just turned two on Valentines Day. In the following holiday season, all the stars were aligned. On December 22nd, Matthew planned a weekend getaway to Washington D.C. After a day filled with sight seeing Matthew planned a surprise evening of Ice Skating at the National Gallery of Arts Museum. Friends and Family local to the area were also in attendance for this special occasion. With a cinematographer in place, the Ice Rink cleared the ice for a regular cleaning. Matthew held Rosie’s hand encouraging her to stay on ice with him. Once he had her attention, his family and friends all surrounded them with candles lit. Matthew then drops to one knee and proposes to Rosie in the center of the Ice Rink. Rosie exclaimed, “Of course!”, with excitement nearly falling on the ice when she realized she was surrounded by family and friends. And now the couple plan to continue the tradition of creating everlasting memories together celebrating their union with everyone.
