The wedding will take place at the Baltimore Zoo in Maryland. In fair weather, the ceremony will take place at the Lakeside Pavilion. The reception will be at the Historic Mansion House on Mansion House Drive at the Zoo. Two locations, same zoo!
The short ceremony will take place at a beautiful Lakeside Pavilion, but the reception will be held indoors with wonderful A/C!
The ceremony begins at 5:30 at the Lakeside Pavilion. It is SUPER IMPORTANT that you provide yourself some time to get a little disoriented at the zoo. We will have signs, but it is a catacombs--so leave early enough for a missed turn. Parking will be available by the Mansion House.
You will need to follow the directions posted here: There will be signs to help get you to the venue! Please allow for a little spare time in case you get a bit mixed up-- I did the first time! Directions Download: https://dochub.com/ericarutkaibf6b5e6a/57nOKQ/mhp-directions
The wedding is FOREVERMOORE. It is forever. Or until they kick us out or charge my Dad more money. So, really, the ceremony and reception will last from 5:30 PM until 10:30 PM. There might be an after party out on the town. :)
Yes, during the cocktail hour, there will be animals. They will be accompanied by their caretakers. Guests are allowed to take photos, but must abide by the directions of the caretaker. Guests cannot touch the animals as so many hands might stress the little things out. But-- get ready for the cutest pictures you can ever imagine.
April 15, 2018 at the latest, but ideally, I would like to know as soon as possible. I am trying to keep the wedding small, so knowing the numbers ahead of time will determine if I would like to send out any additional invitations or if I am happy with the number.
You can find our registry on this website, under 'Registry.'
There will be crab cakes. The bride better get one.
Ryan commands fancy attire or you will have to have a "strong chat outside" with him. His words. Not mine. Our wedding colors are navy, dark teal, and gold if you would like to coordinate with the colors. If you are in the wedding party, we would appreciate you doing so! A nice suit, dress, or tux is fine!
Kids are welcome to the ceremony, but the reception is for the adults to relax and have a good time. It would be greatly appreciated if children were left with a sitter!
Please do! Our caterers are accounting for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, but only for a specific number requested. I have accounted for two that I know have special diets, but if another guest has restrictions, please let me know. If you are allergic to crab cake, there will be steak. So it's really a win-win scenario for everyone... except for the crabs. And the cows.
I have tried to account for most that I know have a serious partner; I have a buffet limit to keep track of, so if you have a plus one, it will say so on your invite.
We were informed that Uber works the best as far as going from the venue to hotels. Get your apps ready! Taxis are not allowed, so Uber it.
I will reserve a block for the wedding party and immediate family as needed. Please check for other options under "Travel" and book quickly.
NO! IT'S NOT ALLOWED AND WE HAD TO SIGN A CONTRACT ACKNOWLEDGING THAT WE COULDN'T HAVE SPARKLERS OR CANDLES. OR FIRE-BREATHING GUESTS.
In general, the photographer has requested that people limit the number of pictures taken with cellphones. If you think that it's going to be hard on you, I really wanted a dress with pockets to keep my phone close to my heart. I couldn't get that dress.
We are going to reserve a block of rooms. If you need a room or are interested in one, please let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. We can only reserve a specified number of rooms without incurring penalties for empty ones. We may also do a separate Air BnB for the wedding party and close family as a potential cheaper option. Please record your interest on the RSVP form so we understand the number of guests interested!
