Marissa and Ryan met when they were a young 18 years old, through their mutual friend. Marissa was a freshman at St. Mary's and Ryan was a freshman playing baseball at City College of San Francisco. The night they met, their only words of exchange were, "Hi, I'm Marissa/Ryan." and/or "Nice to meet you!". Little did they know that they would start dating a little over a year later, thanks to those mutual friends! (Ask them for the full story in person - they have differing stories about that first night!)

On Ryan's birthday in 2019, he surprised Marissa as she came home from a long day of classes. Their living room was lit by tea candles with a box of forever roses and champagne sitting on their coffee table. She truly had no idea what was happening! Ryan had Michael Buble playing in the background as he expressed his love for her and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She was so overwhelmed with love, shock and happiness that she forgot to say yes! After he made sure her tears were good ones, they celebrated with breakfast for dinner.

Marissa and Ryan have never been known for doing the "traditional" or "norm". A little less than a year after getting engaged, they decided to get legally married at the courthouse on September 17, 2020. They were joined with their immediate family and celebrated with a small dinner in Anaheim, California. Through the last seven years, Marissa and Ryan have been lucky and blessed to be surrounded by their family and friends with support and love.
