The year was 2016. Bryson Tiller dropped his album "Trapsoul" in 2015. Loriel was at Senor Frogs with her friend grabbing food before the concert. Edward and his friend took a random bus trip from Atlanta to New York to have a fun weekend in the city. Edward stayed on the couch at a friend's house in Harlem. As Edward and his friend were walking around Times Square, he saw the lights and heard the music so they decided to walk inside a random restaurant. The name was Senor Frogs. From across the room, Edward saw Loriel. According to Edward, Loriel was wearing all Black and had beautiful brown skin. Edward and his friend walked over and as soon as Edward was about to make his move, his friend asked them "Hey, are you going to finish that wing?" Edward thought the pursuit was over. It was a dub. No shot. But somehow, the friend said "No, you can have it!" Edward was shocked! Soon after, Edward and Loriel had their first conversation. Nothing serious. Just getting to know one another. Loriel had to leave for the concert, and they exchanged contact information. Edward's contact in her phone was "Law School" and Loriel's contact in his phone was her name with a "Sunflower" emoji. As she walked out the door, Edward thought to himself... "I hope I see her again." Edward did see her again, but it took 3 years! According to Loriel, the timing wasn't right. When Edward would come back to New York City, he would ask to see her, but Edward didn't know what "upstate" meant at the time. It was a journey to get to the city, which is why Loriel always told him no. So the time continue to go by. It was now the Fall of 2019, and Edward was hosting his annual New Year's party. Edward thought of Loriel again. As previous times, Edward asked Loriel if she would spend New Year's with him, and she actually said yes (mostly because she had no plans yet, but Edward didn't care!). They had no expectations after over 3 years of not seeing each other. When they saw each other again, it was just like Senor Frogs. They had an amazing time at the New Year's party and enjoyed each other's company. After New Year's, Edward and Loriel spoke on the phone almost every day. At this time, Edward was in law school at Howard University School of Law, and Loriel was living in upstate New York. They were trying to make plans to see each other again for Edward's birthday, and that is when Edward learned about that upstate snow (Brutal!). Since January didn't work, they aimed for February. Edward asked her to be his Valentine's and Loriel said yes. Then, Edward asked her to be his plus one for his law school's Barrister's Ball and Loriel said yes. Then on March 1st, Edward asked her to be his lady, and she said yes. After being long distance, 910 miles later, Edward asked Loriel to be his wife on August 24, 2024 and once again, Loriel said yes!
