I was his mirage in the sand dunes. We were both invited to our friends families annual trip to the sand dunes, a trip both of us had been on many times but some how never the same year. We all spent the weekend riding around, drinking, and playing Cards Against Humanity. It wasn't love at first sight but we both knew that something felt right.
Sean picked me up and took me to my favorite sushi restaurant Sapa. It was like we had known each other forever. There were no awkward silences or trying to be someone we were not. We shoved sushi in our faces while laughing and talking for hours. After dinner we headed to my house. We started watching a tv show called Rules of Engagement. Durning the first episode they were eating delicious looking cupcakes, of course me being the wierdo I started craving cupcakes, Sean offered to take me to the grocery store to buy some. Instead of buying cupcakes we decided to bake them ourselves, once they were done I shoved an entire one in his face and took a hilarious picture. We ended the night with a kiss but we both knew this would only be the first of many dates.
It was a night like any other. My mom was in town staying with us and I was cooking what my friends like to call a "family dinner". I have always loved cooking big dinners for my friends and having game night after. We decided to invite Sean's mom over as well so both our moms could meet. After dinner my friends and family sat around the living room and played Cards Against Humanity. This was our favorite game because no matter how many times you played you always get different answers that keep you laughing all night. There were about 15 people and we each took our turn 1 by 1 until it was Seans turn. He flipped over his card and on it hand written said "Will you marry me buttercup?". He got down on one knee and after the shock wore off and I could speak I said YES!
