Her side: I met Jonathan at Fairleigh Dickinson University back in 2012. I was attending a campus party with my friend Aleaha and he happened to enter the room. From the first moment I laid eyes on him, I immediately blurted out “Wow you look just like Chris Brown!” He laughed and responded “Yea, I get that a lot” and proceeded to have a conversation with someone else in the room. It was at that very moment that I knew I had to have this guy. That entire night I followed Jon to everywhere he went until he made his exit. I had taken a break from FDU at the time but I made a promise to myself that if I returned I would find him and he would capture his attention. A few months later I was offered a scholarship to return to the university and less than 24hrs after moving into my dorm room I had already found him. It took some time to get the courage up to talk to him but once I did everything else fell into place so naturally. We built our relationship on friendship first and it has really allowed us to withstand an obstacle or two that has been thrown our way. Through it all, we remain by each other’s side ready to go to war for our love.

After Christmas Eve dinner at Simone’s mom’s house in Brooklyn, Simone & Jonathan returned to their home in New Jersey with Chase. Jonathan was eager to get home and Simone thought it was because he wanted Chase to get to his Christmas gifts as soon as possible. Once they entered their home all attention went to Chase, ensuring he was excited and happy with his new car, bicycle, and many other gifts that were scattered under the tree. Jonathan was insistent on recording everything which seemed like an awesome opportunity to hold on to the memories of the moment in Simone’s mind. Little did she know it was all for another purpose. When it came time for Simone to open her gift she was a bit confused. The gift was wrapped in a big box but it felt so light. Once she unwrapped the paper she found her Jordan sneaker box which completely threw her off. After opening the sneaker box she found a girl scouts thin mint box the contained something other than cookies. As she opened the final box emotions rushed over her and she was at a loss for words. Inside of the final box was a diamond engagement ring glistening in its glory. Once she looked up she found Jonathan and Chase kneeling before her. Chase asked “Mommy will you marry us” as the tears started to flow. While it was hard to speak at first, she was finally able to say yes as she embraced the one and only love of her life.
