How we met began before we actually met... Nick noticed Erika one day during their first days of City Year and became intrigued. He wanted to get to know her but he could never catch her due to her swift speed walking. One lucky day, he was presented with a surprise when Erika walked up to the lunch tables with one of Nick's friends. Nick was ecstatic to finally be able to be introduced to this beautiful and vibrant spirit. From that day on, Nick got to know Erika and discovered why she felt so special to him. He found out quickly that she was one special lady through many loving encounters. Like cooking Erika fried chicken to win her heart and Erika challenging Nick to a game of one on one basketball. Nick quickly swept Erika off her feet by showing her wonderful sights throughout LA and by planning meaningful experiences for them to enjoy together. Even getting lost in Joshua Tree bouldering. As their relationship progressed, they both challenged each other to be their best selves and continuously grow into the people they are today. Erika & Nick spent many years together which led to the special connection that they have now!!! When Nick asked for Erika's hand in marriage she excitedly said YES!
