Flight
Google flights is the real MVP. This is how I compare prices and book all my flights. You can also check Expedia and CheapoAir to compare. Prices vary a lot so check often. I've heard that tickets are cheap on Tuesday, approximately 6 weeks before desired departure date, but cannot confirm. You are going to want to fly to Calgary International Airport (YYC). American Airlines, Delta, and United Airlines are all good (have they all merged yet? same difference to me), and WestJet is my personal favourite Canadian airline. (Pro tip: I would avoid Toronto and Air Canada if at all possible).
Rental Car
Unfortunately, the Calgary airport is pretty removed from anything worth seeing/doing. But there is Uber! You can also rent a car at the airport, or do a mix & match and Uber to a rental car facility. Although I have never personally rented a car on a trip to Calgary (spoiled, I know), I would HIGHLY recommend doing so. Because the airport is so far away from everything, and because there are so many things to do within driving distance of Calgary (Banff, anyone?), it will be worth your while to find some friends and split a rental. You can rent a car in Canada with a US license and proof of insurance (phew), and if you have AAA, let your rental car company know, usually they have discounts.
Hotel
YES! We will (eventually) have information about a hotel block stored here! We do not have such information at this time - check back soon(ish).
House Or Rental
If you are planning on staying a while, have a family or group you want to stay with, desperately need your own kitchen, or just hate hotels, Airbnb or VRBO are GREAT. Where to book: Calgary in general is split in 4 quadrants; NW, NE, SE, SW. My family lives in the south west, I grew up there, is closest to the mountains, and I'm obsessed with it. Our ceremony location is also south west of Calgary so you'll be closer for that if you opt for SW Calgary. That being said the north west is great too and has some amazing views with great access to downtown and the highway straight out to the mountains. I also love downtown Calgary. There's a train that runs through downtown (and to quadrants) that is super easy to use. Our reception venue is on the outside of downtown/Inglewood area, if you're looking to stay closer to that. I don't know a whole lot about the NE & SE quadrants outside of the downtown area. Lastly, prices may be shown in Canadian dollars - double check when booking.
